Courses

The doctoral program provides for the pursuit of 30 CFU (1 CFU equivalent to 6 hours) of which 24 CFU related to basic courses and 6 CFU to be acquired on soft skills. All courses offered by the SAFAS doctorate are scheduled in the first year. University courses are offered every year. The acquisition of elective credits is permitted in the second and third year.

Extra-curricular training activities

  • Research seminars held by professors and experts from the scientific world, both national and foreign (in Italian or English) and others held by external experts operating in strategic sectors (for the training of the doctoral student) of the world of professions, production, work and research operating in the Tuscan or national territory.
  • Laboratory meetings in which the doctoral students will present the key aspects of their research as well as any critical issues;
  • Journal Club in which articles of particular interest published in scientific journals in the sector will be brought to the attention of the doctoral students and the salient aspects of the research presented therein will be discussed
  • Experiences in applied contexts (internships/traineeships/other)

PhD students may participate in internships/traineeships/other with partners external to the ATS that participate in the implementation of the research topics or that have a high level of innovation recognized at international level.

Study and research stays abroad

Period of research activity at a qualified foreign Laboratory. This structure will be identified by the Board and the Candidate in relation to the specific research topic that the PhD student has planned. Exams

At the end of each course, an exam is scheduled. For details, please contact the relevant professor.
